more snow

Here are a few more snow pics....

I took this today around 3pm! We got a ton of snow! :)

She is a stinker pot! She loves to stick out that tongue! She did NOT like being in her bumbo, i think her little legs are getting too big for it!

We woke up to another snowy day!! Avery woke up at 5:30am for a feeding and after I put her down I looked outside and saw lots of snow! the 2nd picture was taken at 6am, you can see my shoeprints down the driveway! :) I attempted to take ave out in the snow but the flakes were so big they kept falling on her face and she did not like it! Hopefully next year we'll get snow like this again and she can play in it!

tummy time

Here is our latest session of tummytime. I have her practice in just a diaper now. I think she tolerates it longer. But its still short lived.

In this video Avery has more toys than she knows what to do with! :) She loves her activity gym! and as you can see she has started drooling!!! hopefully teeth are still a long way away!!

3 month birthday!!!

Our baby girl is 3 months old already!!!!!!! Here are some of the facts I've accumulated! Most of it is still the same from the last post... with a few additions!

• She has discovered some of the toys on her activity gym, she will watch it and use her hand to hit it. its been amazing to watch. Right now she has just been using her left hand... wonder if she'll be left handed?
• She is quite the smiler! We usually don't have to work too hard to get a big smile!
• Ave has a pretty good routine these days. she's on a 3 hour schedule; she wakes up, eats, plays (total of about an hour), naps for 2 (although that isn't continuous, see next pt), then the cycle repeats!
• She still has a hard time with her naps. She goes down almost without a fuss and will sleep for about 40-50 minutes then she wakes up. Usually, with the help of the paci she will go back to sleep but it can take 20-30 minutes!
• Ave likes to suck on her hand but hasn't figured out how to put her fingers in her mouth yet. I'm hoping she won't find her thumb.... but we'll see
• Avery now sleeps in her crib without the travel bed. I finally took it out, I think I kept it in more for myself than for her! Now she really sleeps like a big girl... :(

• She likes to go for walks but still sleeps for the most part
• Her eyes have turned dark blue, they were a blue/hazel at birth.
• She is losing some of her hair... getting a bit of a receeding hairline! She also has a bald spot on the back of her head, from turning her head back and forth in her crib! There is NO hair on that spot!
• She has had some dry skin on her face, but after many different creams I think its finally getting better! just took some extra virgin olive oil!! ;)
• Avery had her first cold just after her 3 month birthday! she made it 3 months without getting sick! Chris had it first, about a week later I got sick and then she caught it 2 days after me. We were lucky, she only had one rough night, and didn't get fully congested. Just runny nose and a little cough. I still got some smiles even while she was sick.

We are looking forward to whats in store for next month!!!

TV

Well, Avery is definitely my child! we have discovered her addiction to television. She wasn't even 3 months old yet and already she is mesmerized by it! Here is a short clip of her watching American Idol.....

Notice how she doesn't even blink! Her eyes are wet because she was crying till she saw the tv. she instantly stopped and was entranced!! too funny!

I have been using this to my advantage to get her to do some tummy time...
