11 months old

Happy 11 month birthday Avery Jo! 

Here are some things we've noticed about Avery this past month:

• She has gotten more hair and it looks like its getting darker
• 2 days after her 10 month birthday Avery started crawling off her tummy (on her hands and knees)!
• She will wave, clap, shake her head and blow kisses by us just telling her. Its amazing how much she understands now!
• I love watching Ave sleep on her monitor. She often falls asleep on her tummy with her little booty in the air, so cute, when she gets up her tummy is really warm, she's a little heater like her momma!
• Avery took her first airplane ride! Sept 9 we flew to Florida, she did great and really liked the flight attendant! I even got her to fall asleep in my arms, first time since she was a newborn.
• She got to visit the beach for the first time while on vacation
• Avery learned how to drink from a straw!
• She also learned 2 signs this month, airplane and all done!
• While on vacation Avery would tell you what a cat says. She would make this noise that sounded alot like target!
• She still sleeps 12-13 hours at night and takes 2 (1.5-2hr) naps a day!
• Avery will give just about anyone kisses
• She has a funny obsession with shoes, as soon as I set her down on the floor she goes right for any shoes around!
• She started tilting her head while in her high chair and she has a new face, she likes to scrunch up her nose! its so cute!
• She has started really exercising her vocal chords. Seems like she loves to yell while we're out shopping! She also loves sitting in the shopping cart and trying to grab everything she can!
• When we go get Avery from her crib we say "Avery, no paci", she immediately spits it out! Parker got such a kick out of telling this to Avery while we were on vacation.
• Avery is in size 3 diapers, soon moving to size 4 and wears 12mo and 12-18 month clothes!
• She loves to eat and will finally eat stage 3 baby food.
• She has 5 teeth now! Fortunately, she hasn't seem bothered by the new ones.
• She is terrified of the vacuum and my hair dryer. she crawled in my room when I was drying my hair one day and I looked over to see her completely sobbing. :(
• Avery can pull up on pretty much anything and loves to cruise around however, now that she can crawl she isn't as interested in walking around!
• Avery is very content to play by herself and dosesn't get mad if I leave the room anymore, she usually follows me a few minutes later!

blowing kisses

Have I mentioned that I love this age?? Avery can do so many little tricks and is so much fun to interact with! Tonight she decided to start blowing kisses! I've been trying to get her to do them for a few weeks but figured she just wasn't interested since she wouldn't even try. But she once again surprised me, out of the blue she started doing it! Such a genius! haha, I know, what parent doesn't say that? We are a little partial I suppose. I'm sad that she won't be my little baby forever but if I could capture an age it would be now. She isn't too mobile but plays well on her own and loves to interact with anyone! She will randomly start waving at people when we are out and about. She is a very friendly baby.

a few steps

Avery took a few steps for a puff today! LOL! she is scared to let go most of the time, but I coaxed her using food! haha

Avery gets such a kick out of her Papa. She always gets excited when she sees him or hears his voice! Here is a video of her little giggles....

first airplane ride

Avery took her first flight on an airplane to florida! She did really good, much better than i anticipated. the flight attendant was her favorite person, avery would get so excited and wave when she came by!

straw

Avery mastered a new task on our trip to Florida! She can now drink from a straw. This was only the 2nd time I've even tried to get her to do it but she loves it now! :)

head tilt

The funny little things she does... She started tilting her head when she eats. I just had to get a video of it;

Tomorrow is her first airplane ride. We are flying to Florida to spend a week on the beach in Destin!! I can't wait to see what she thinks about it! :)

Avery is everywhere now and doesn't want to stay in one place. I turned around and she was standing at the coffee table about to eat this bracelet!!!

Toys toys toys

Avery has a new toy, this was Parker's when she was little and Avery now gets to play with it. She hasn't had it long but already has mastered closing the doors. She hasn't tried opening them yet but I'm still surprised how well she closes them. Our little genius! :)
