Jumping Bean

Our little munchkin is 6 months old today!! I had good intentions of taking her pics today but it just didn't happen! We are headed to Oklahoma again tomorrow so it'll have to be next week! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. I wanted to post a video of today and a picture. The video is of her in her jumper toy. She just started really jumping in it! Its too cute. The picture is of her sleeping unswaddled! today was the first time we were able to get her to nap "successfully" without being swaddled! She did great, no crying, and actually slept really good. I had to wake her up from her last nap!!!! BIG GIRL!

BIG GIRL!

tonight was a big night in the world of Avery Jo! She had her first taste of solids! We fed her some oatmeal cereal. At first she had a hard time figuring out what to do with it. Her tongue kept getting in the way but she finally seemed to get the hang of it and ate the whole thing! I only made about 1 tablespoon but she did eat it all! We even got a smile halfway through!

80's Party!

Tonight we helped surprise my friend Nicole for her 30th Birthday!! The theme was 80's night! We got some cute pics of the girls (Avery, Ella and Layla)

I was looking back at my old posts today and I came across the video I posted when Avery was 6weeks old, she looks so much different, I had forgotten how dark her hair was! its amazing how much she has changed in almost 5 months! Here is a video from today;

A&E

Karisa and Ella came over this afternoon!! We tried our hand at making homemade baby food! We cooked up sweet potatoes, peas, acorn squash and butternut squash!!! It took us longer than I thought it would but we did get a little sidetracked! It was more fun to do it with a friend than by myself! I think we did a good job, now we'll just have to wait and see what the girls think! Before we started cooking we got the girls together and took a little video! It is so cute to see them interact with each other, they really noticed each other this time!!! Avery kept grabbing for Ella's face but I think she really wanted her bow or maybe a HUG!! lol

Avery had a sleepover last night with her cousin Parker at Papa and Gramma's house! I think she had a great time because she didn't seem to want to leave! She got fussy when chris and I showed up. :)

Cindy captured this video on her phone and sent it to me. It is so cute. Turn up the volume and check her out! Make sure you watch to the end, because she really gets going!

When we went out to dinner Sunday afternoon, Avery sat in a restaurant highchair for the first time! She kept falling backwards but was all smiles! Here is a video of her dancing skills :)

Moonwalk

Avery learned a new trick this weekend... She likes to walk backwards! no, she doesn't walk on her own or even stand on her own but when she stands up (with help) she moves her feet and takes babysteps backwards! its too funny to see! here is a video of it;

Oklahoma visit!

Avery and I spent this past weekend in Edmond! we were there for Chelsea's senior harp recital and also to see my grandparents!!! I got so many good pictures it was hard to choose which ones to post!

bathtime fun

I decided to let Avery start her bath sitting up instead of reclining. She seemed to enjoy it and even played with the little ducks! **WARNING** uncensored! :) I forgot to cover her up! She doesn't talk so feel free to turn down the volume so you don't have to hear me!

I just love at the end when I tell her to say goodbye to the camera she looks right at it!

I forgot to post this video! I bought Avery some new sunglasses online and they ended up a little big for her yet! Sorry my camera skills are lacking, its hard to hold a baby, video and keep putting the sunglasses back on her nose! haha

We took Avery for a walk yesterday evening without putting her in her carseat! she did great, and seemed very comfortable. She had a great time looking around at everything!!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all of our friends and family! We have been so blessed this year and made sure to reflect on what this weekend means to us! HE IS RISEN! :) Hope you all had a great weekend! We spent the day at Ed & Betty Rhodes (Chris' grandparents) house for a late afternoon lunch and an egg hunt for Parker! Avery did GREAT! she was awake for much longer than she usually is and handled being passed around like a pro! She also went down for a nap without any fuss! She is sooo close to mastering sitting up by herself! it amazes me to watch. She can catch herself from toppling to the side but not backwards yet! She seems quite proud of herself and gets this big smile on her face when we sit her down! Here are a few pics of today;

Yes, she's naked! she had spit up and drooled all over her easter dress and daddy forgot to pack her other outfit! :) good thing it was a nice warm day!
