Hard to believe how much the girls have changed!!!!! :)

1 year old!!!

Our baby is ONE year old!!!

• she still has the same super adorable dimple on her right cheek!
• She got her first fever just after she turned 11 months old! She went to the doc for her first sick visit! she had to miss swimming lessons that week. :( but less than 48hrs later she was all ok!
• HER FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY WAS ON OCT 23!!! it was a stormy day but she still had a great party!
• Avery is quite ticklish! on the bottoms of her feet and her little ribs (just like Chris)
• she only sleeps on her tummy these days!
• Avery loves it when I tell her I'm gonna get her, she gets really excited and crawls or cruises as fast as she can, then laughs when I grab her!
• In one year she has gained over 15lbs and grown 10in!!!
• She spent 2 nights and 3 days away from mommy and daddy! the longest so far, she stayed with her Papa and Gramma while we were in Atlanta for a Delta dinner.
• She likes to crawl with a plastic ring in each hand! Guess her little palms hurt when she doesn't! Its hilarious to watch!
• Avery is VERY vocal now, and LOUD! doesn't matter where, in a store, restaurant, the car or at home, she likes to make sure everyone can hear her! She usually is yelling MA or MAMA!
• She has learned how to flush the toilet! over and over and over :)
• She loves to eat whatever she sees us eat. She starts making her sign for more, meaning she wants whatever you have!! She will get mad if she doesn't get any!

I still can't believe its been a year since she was born!

this time last year cont...

....4am came very quickly. I wanted to shower and get ready before they hooked me up for the induction process. The pitocin IV was started and we were off and racing! The day went by very slowly for me, it seemed like it took forever for me to dialate. I remember wondering if our little girl's birthday would be the 29th or 30th! Fortunately, by 8pm everything was ready for our baby girl to enter the world. At 8:50pm we became mommy and daddy, she was so beautiful and so little. I still can't believe God blessed us with such an amazing gift. This past year has been such a wonderful journey! Chris and I have grown closer together in our quest to be the best parents we can.

Avery had pictures taken about 3 weeks ago for her 1yr pics in Frisco, TX! We brought her birthday outfit, halloween costume and a play outfit! We could hardly get Ave to smile and we pulled out all the tricks we could!!! She was being a little stinker (reference picture number 3) but Nikki still got some really cute shots!

Partytime!

Avery had her first birthday party this past weekend! We celebrated on Oct 23 even though she won't officially be 1 till the 29th. We had planned on having a big jump house with a slide for the kiddos. But, that day of all days it decided to rain with a chance of tornadoes!!!! It did rain pretty hard and we heard the tornado sirens but we still had a great turnout! I was very excited that my Grandparents came in all the way from Arkansas to celebrate her birthday! Here are a few pics from the party;

This is one of the first videos I caught of Avery. This was the day we went home from the hospital last year, on halloween. She was 2 days old;

this time last year....

......I had my last visit with my doctor who tells me we are checking into the hospital that evening!!! I remember Chris and I racing around to clean the house, pack and try to relax before our lives changed forever! Our last meal as just "the 2 of us" was to Chilis. I remembering being pretty relaxed till we were all checked into the hospital. I could hardly sleep that night, I felt like it was Christmas Eve and I knew Santa would be coming any minute! :)

Atlanta trip

On Sunday, chris and I both left for Atlanta! Delta flew me up for the new hire pilot banquet Monday evening! Chris and I got to spend some alone time driving around Atlanta on Sunday afternoon and evening! Avery got to spend 2 nights away from mommy at Gramma and Papa's house. Chris still had class on Monday but when he got out he took me on a tour of the Delta museum and the Delta campus. Here are a few pics from our trip;

I can't reiterate enough how proud I am of my wonderful husband!! We have been so blessed this past year!

Avery took her first ride in a go-kart thing! I'm not sure exactly what it is called but she watched Jaden ride in it and then wanted to walk over to it. I thought maybe she wanted to take a ride so I asked Nicole to do the honors! :) I even caught a video... She wasn't too sure at first but on our way back to their house she was all smiles!!



Special day

Today is a very special day! Its my Grandpa's 77th birthday!

Happy Birthday PAPA!!

We love you and can't wait to see you and Grandma Mary next weekend!

Avery has learned how to shut doors. She doesn't get her fingers caught at the end, she is crying because she got scared that I was leaving! She definitely has mommy anxiety but it hits when I least expect it! :)

ticklish

I have found Avery's ticklish spot. Just like her daddy its her rib cage!!! Chris caught this video the other night. Although, it was at the end, before this she was giggling up a storm!!!

You can also tell she isn't a big fan of standing up anymore!! she would rather be on the floor crawling!

the weather has been beautiful lately and now that Avery isn't sick we decided to take advantage of it...

she took her dragon walker for a stroll yesterday!!

sick baby

My poor little lovebug got her first fever/bug over the weekend. We were in Edmond and she was very restless Saturday night and neither of us got much sleep. She felt a little warm on Sunday but didn't register too high with a thermometer. By the time we got home her fever was 102.7! We took her to the doc Monday morning but her ears and throat were clear. They sent us home to watch her and bring her back the next day if she still had a fever. Doctor said sometimes babies get fevers with no obvious reasons. Fortunately, this morning she woke up without a fever and we only heard her fuss once in the night! YAY! I did enjoy the cuddles while Ave wasn't feeling herself. She has been playing all day and eating like normal. I hated to see her feeling bad, you could see it in her poor little eyes. Her first time to be really sick and it nearly broke my heart!

She's still beautiful, even when sick!
