Avery's favorite thing to do is walk around the house and "talk" on her phone! she will gab gab gab and then say "mama"! its too funny! she also loves to try to catch target, he is usually too fast for her but he's going to have to watch out because she is getting faster at walking!!

We took Avery to have her picture taken with Santa a few weeks ago! She did surprisingly well! I expected a meltdown but she sat very good until the end. They took alot of pictures but then the computer froze so we only got to pick out of 3!!! here is the one we chose;

MAUI

I haven't been keeping up with my blog lately :( but I figured it was time to add some new info! I just recently got back from a mini vacation!!! My friend, Nicole was going to Maui (her dad/stepmom and brother live there) and she asked if I wanted to go with her! Who says no to MAUI? I hopped on her flight (standby of course) and got to spend 4 amazing days in maui. We did lots of hiking and seeing the beauty maui has to offer. Avery stayed behind to have some alone time with daddy. It was the longest I've ever been away from her and I missed her ALOT! Here are a few pics from my trip;

13 months

Our lovebug is now 13 months old! I'm going to try to keep these updates going for another year... we'll see if I can do it!

• Avery is quite the chatterbox, she sure has alot to say
• Lately, she has been eating everything she can see. I'm thinking it may be a growth spurt but she is constantly hungry! She's also definitely not a picky eater, so far!
• She is walking like crazy!
• Her hair is getting a little bit thicker now
• She has started grinding what few teeth she has! It drives me nuts but she melts down if I tell her to stop!
• I can't wait for christmas this year, I think Avery will really enjoy it
• She can sign please, put her hands over her ears when we say "earmuffs" and even does the "choo choo" sign when she sees a train!
• If you show her a duck she will try to say it, she says "du" sometimes it sounds like she adds a "k"
• Her two favorite words are still mama and dada!
• She would probably be completely content all day if someone was reading to her!! She LOVES books! I will walk into the living room and she is sitting in a sea of books!

We don't have stairs at our house but apparently Avery knows exactly how to get up them! She's only tried a couple of times before this and never made it past the first 2 steps... but she knows how to get to the top NOW...

Avery amazes me how brave she is... She had a fun picnic in the park with Gramma, Papa, cousin parker, aunt jenny and daddy! I met up after I got home and got to see Avery put herself down the slide! no fear! she loves it! check out the video;

As most of you know, I take a few pictures! Especially since Avery entered our lives. I use the company Shutterfly to upload all my pictures, create photobooks, cards etc! I love Shutterfly, its easy to use and they give out lots of freebies! But my favorite part is they have unlimited storage! For a picture hog (like me) this is CRUCIAL!

As Christmas is approaching I've been thinking of what our family Christmas card will look like this year. Last year our card was also Avery's birth announcment. Shutterfly has some adorable baby announcements which you can see by clicking HERE This year I'm hoping to get a good picture of the 3 of us. We got it on camera this morning!! It wasn't just a fluke! here's our Avery walking;

come on boots, start walking!!!

We have a toddler in the house!!! Avery has been walking today!!! Back and forth between chris and i to get a toy airplane!! :) After a few times she started trying to hand the airplane back to the other person so she could walk to it. Then she walked halfway across the kitchen to me! Its amazing to watch her teeter and catch herself, get stable then take a few more steps! She just started this today, finally getting the stability in her legs to keep going instead of falling down! Look out world, here comes Avery! We caught a good portion of her walking on the video camera but didn't realize that by recording it onto a DVD we can't copy it to the computer! :( As soon as we can, we'll record it to the hard drive and then I can post it for all to see! Way to go Ave!

look how they've grown

Hard to believe how much the girls have changed!!!!! :)

1 year old!!!

Our baby is ONE year old!!!

• she still has the same super adorable dimple on her right cheek!
• She got her first fever just after she turned 11 months old! She went to the doc for her first sick visit! she had to miss swimming lessons that week. :( but less than 48hrs later she was all ok!
• HER FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY WAS ON OCT 23!!! it was a stormy day but she still had a great party!
• Avery is quite ticklish! on the bottoms of her feet and her little ribs (just like Chris)
• she only sleeps on her tummy these days!
• Avery loves it when I tell her I'm gonna get her, she gets really excited and crawls or cruises as fast as she can, then laughs when I grab her!
• In one year she has gained over 15lbs and grown 10in!!!
• She spent 2 nights and 3 days away from mommy and daddy! the longest so far, she stayed with her Papa and Gramma while we were in Atlanta for a Delta dinner.
• She likes to crawl with a plastic ring in each hand! Guess her little palms hurt when she doesn't! Its hilarious to watch!
• Avery is VERY vocal now, and LOUD! doesn't matter where, in a store, restaurant, the car or at home, she likes to make sure everyone can hear her! She usually is yelling MA or MAMA!
• She has learned how to flush the toilet! over and over and over :)
• She loves to eat whatever she sees us eat. She starts making her sign for more, meaning she wants whatever you have!! She will get mad if she doesn't get any!

I still can't believe its been a year since she was born!

this time last year cont...

....4am came very quickly. I wanted to shower and get ready before they hooked me up for the induction process. The pitocin IV was started and we were off and racing! The day went by very slowly for me, it seemed like it took forever for me to dialate. I remember wondering if our little girl's birthday would be the 29th or 30th! Fortunately, by 8pm everything was ready for our baby girl to enter the world. At 8:50pm we became mommy and daddy, she was so beautiful and so little. I still can't believe God blessed us with such an amazing gift. This past year has been such a wonderful journey! Chris and I have grown closer together in our quest to be the best parents we can.

We could hardly get Ave to smile and we pulled out all the tricks we could!!! She was being a little stinker (reference picture number 3) but Nikki still got some really cute shots!

Partytime!

Avery had her first birthday party this past weekend! We celebrated on Oct 23 even though she won't officially be 1 till the 29th. We had planned on having a big jump house with a slide for the kiddos. But, that day of all days it decided to rain with a chance of tornadoes!!!! It did rain pretty hard and we heard the tornado sirens but we still had a great turnout! I was very excited that my Grandparents came in all the way from Arkansas to celebrate her birthday! Here are a few pics from the party;

this time last year....

......I had my last visit with my doctor who tells me we are checking into the hospital that evening!!! I remember Chris and I racing around to clean the house, pack and try to relax before our lives changed forever! Our last meal as just "the 2 of us" was to Chilis. I remembering being pretty relaxed till we were all checked into the hospital. I could hardly sleep that night, I felt like it was Christmas Eve and I knew Santa would be coming any minute! :)

Atlanta trip

On Sunday, chris and I both left for Atlanta! Delta flew me up for the new hire pilot banquet Monday evening! Chris and I got to spend some alone time driving around Atlanta on Sunday afternoon and evening! Avery got to spend 2 nights away from mommy at Gramma and Papa's house. Chris still had class on Monday but when he got out he took me on a tour of the Delta museum and the Delta campus. Here are a few pics from our trip;
