I have been sick the past 2 days so I'm behind on posting! Avery turned 3 months old yesterday!!!!!! its going by too fast. I haven't taken her 3 month pics yet but after chris gets home we will have our mini photo session! here is a video till then.... its short cause she spits up at the end! :P Doesn't she look so big in that highchair? She hasn't quite figured out that she can pick up toys yet. i think this coming month will be exciting. maybe she'll roll over, or find her hands! stay tuned for her 3 month pics! :)

Avery had some more tummy time this morning, we try to do a little everyday. I decided to let her try it naked! haha. she actually tolerated it a bit longer than usual and I got some cute shots! The video was after a few minutes so she didn't last long on camera!

Cousins!

We stopped by chris' parents house yesterday while we were out and about. Parker really wanted to hold Avery so I was able to capture this cute video of the 2 of them!

This morning i caught Avery playing with one of the toys on her gym. It was really cool to watch her look at the elephant and then use her hand to swat it. I think she may be getting close to discovering her hands!!! :) Big girl!

Some Avery Facts

I haven't been very good about writing stuff down about Avery and she is growing up so fast I figured I had better get on it!  Here is what I've come up with so far;

• @ 10 weeks old she sleeps about 6-7 hours straight. Sometimes she will want to eat around 2am but usually she'll sleep till 4/5am.
• I stopped doing the dreamfeed around 10-11pm. It seemed to upset her sleep too much!
• We still swaddle her when she sleeps, I imagine we'll continue with this until she discovers her hands.
• She moved to her crib in her room around 5 weeks old. She is a noisy sleeper. She grunts alot and was keeping me awake :)
• She is not the best napper. Lately, she will only sleep 40-50 minutes in her crib but at 11 weeks she is getting much better! she has started putting herself back to sleep till its time to eat again!
• In her swing she would probably sleep the day away! She LOVES her swing
• Her smiles are the best thing in the world. She started smiling alot more around the middle of december. at 10 weeks, I can get her to smile at me!
• She is fascinated with the ceiling fan, even if its not moving she just stares!
• Her naptime routine has surprised me. I stopped working to get her to sleep. Instead, when she starts to show me she is sleepy I take her into her room, swaddle her, sing to her, and put her in her bed. She used to cry for a bit but now @ 11 weeks she doesn't even cry, just puts herself to sleep in about 5-10 minutes!!! Its great!
• I used to try to rock her to sleep but as soon as I put her in her crib she would open her eyes and be wide awake! silly girl
• She really loves to look around. Her favorite position when begin held is over someone's shoulder.
• She seems to really like bathtime. Daddy has even given her 2 baths by himself! Way to go DAD!
• Avery had her first Christmas, and it SNOWED!!! we spent christmas eve here with chris' family and because of the weather didn't get to go to Oklahoma till the day after Christmas, but we still had a great visit!
• We discovered that dairy bothers Avery. I had to stop eating anything with milk/cheese in it. She was having really bad gas pains but since I stopped eating dairy she hardly has any.
• This might be TMI but... I think her digestive system is getting more mature, she is up to a poo every other day!!! which is great bc ever since she was about a month old she would go almost 4 days without a poo! : P
• She doesn't like to sit still, even in her bounce chair, or under her gym she keeps moving with her legs and her hands.
• She has started standing up, not on her own of course but she likes to stand up when I hold her. Her little legs are getting strong.
• She still fights tummy time. She may not roll over for awhile... :) she may walk first! haha
• One of my favorite things is when I go get her from her crib, she will look right at me and give me the biggest smile!!!!!
• I'm going to try and post these facts every month... hopefully!!! :)

A&E

Avery and Ella got together again for a little playtime!! this time, however, they did not want to cooperate for pictures!! One would be happy while the other screamed, then they'd switch! :) I did manage to get a few cute pics tho... MELTDOWN!! :) click here to see the rest of the pics!

*yesterday we were out shopping at grapevine mills and chris snapped this pic of avery with his phone! i can't get enough of those smiles! they are the best!*

Avery has been in a great mood lately!! This short clip was this morning!!! it would've been longer but I was afraid she was about to fall over! :) her personality is starting to come out and I look forward to every smile I can get!

more tummy time

We are still working on tummy time!!! Lately, Avery is more interested in sucking on her hand than trying to push herself up. She only really works on it when she gets angry!! We try to do a little every day, but she doesn't last very long!

new hat!

Avery got 2 new hats (a white and black one) for christmas! She has a bunch of different colored flowers that are interchangable! So cute! Thanks Gramma and Pop!

cold weather

The weather lately has been frigid! Avery and I got out this morning for a walmart run.... she got all bundled up! I got this bear suit before we found out she was a girl. I still think its cute even though its not pink! :) her face in this last one cracks me up! like she is thinking "mom, you're crazy!"
